Family Support
The main focus of King’s Reach Family Support Services has been intensive outreach including time limited one-to-one support. Our services work directly with families in their home environment and provide guidance and constructive activities. King’s Reach aims to encourage multi-agency cohesion to ensure families have a clear step-by-step pathway to follow and where necessary, King’s Reach will advocate on the family’s behalf.
The programme addresses the issues behind family breakdown and makes sure individual household members are heard and that their opinions are valued. On a practical level families are supported with daily tasks such as household duties, budgetary responsibility and ensuring contact with other involved agencies.
Offering a holistic service, King’s Reach Family Support works hand- in-hand with our school programmes. This part of the programme includes visiting the young person in their own accommodation and school environment to provide guidance and support. A constructive one-to-one programme is then developed for the purposes of mentoring and to address the barriers to educational engagement.
The ultimate aim of King’s Reach Family Support Services is to plan towards a more independent future that sees the whole family having reduced or no involvement with social agencies.
TriSports
“…Football is the excuse we use to build a ‘community’ of men who are able to support each other through life’s challenges and trials…”
TriSports is a community football club founded in 2001 with the aims of addressing the lack of positive activities and to provide support for local youths and young men. Although TriSports started life with six active members it has now grown to include three teams with approximately 50 active players. Throughout its life, one of the core values of TriSports has been to equip and develop committed players to positions of responsibility as captains, coaches and team managers.
TriSports football club is open to players of all ability and there are a range of teams available for people who enjoy the social and community aspects of football.
Trisports vision is to:
• Provide excellent nurture and care for our players.
• Progress through the Maidstone leagues into the Kent leagues and from there into semi-professional football.
• Obtain our own football ground/stadium.

Counselling Service
After many years of working with vulnerable young people and their families King’s Reach recognised that for all our services to become effective, provision needed to be made for a programme that addressed their emotional and psychological wellbeing.
In October 2011 King’s Reach launched a counselling service accessible to students across our educational programmes and to serve members of the local community. To fulfil this service we recruited an experienced, trained counsellor who holds a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB) and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
The model primarily used is an integrative approach which utilises a variety of therapeutic tools, models and concepts when working with clients. The approaches employed at any given time are dependent on needs identified with each individual.
