Facilities

One of the objectives of King’s Reach is to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of the community and general social welfare. King’s Reach believe that these facilities should be made available for individuals and communities who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or other social circumstances.

Shepway Youth and Community Centre

This has been the venue of King’s Reach Training Centre for Boys since 2006. The facility is equipped with a kitchen and indoor café, as well as an open plan games area. There is a dance studio, an art suite and meeting room, all of which are used as flexible areas for learning. The centre has a large indoor sports hall and outdoor multi-purpose hard court for sporting and recreation activities.

St Hilary’s House

The Training Centre for girls is based at St Hilary’s House in Senacre, Maidstone. This double storey venue houses the Training Centre for girls on the lower level. It has a homely atmosphere with the girls using one central hall as a multipurpose learning area. There is a kitchen and serving area and a large recreational area behind the centre. Upstairs at St Hilary’s are offices for the administration of King’s Reach, the iMap programme and one-to-one student support.

Rutlands Wood

Rutlands is a woodland in Bearsted, Maidstone that has just been purchased by King’s Reach to expand our outdoor learning curriculum. We have partnered with Jubilee Church to develop the woodland into an exciting space that can be utilised in a variety of different ways. The woodland will be made available to local schools, youth clubs and charities so they can explore the great outdoors and connect with nature.

Marden Farm

A local farmer has kindly given us the use of his farm which is situated in Marden, Kent. Together with our students we have built a Saxon roundhouse teaching them construction skills and teamwork along the way. In line with our commitment to the community, the local Scout Group and Primary School were offered use of the roundhouse as a camp and classroom respectively.

Maidstone Skills and Community Centre

We recently obtained the use of an exciting new building and facilities in Senacre, Maidstone. Maidstone Skills and Community Centre has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and forms the base from where King’s Reach run vocational learning programmes. This facility has a tailored woodwork and mechanics workshop, classroom, IT suite, fully fitted kitchen and café area, a multi-use hall, and an outdoor full-size football pitch.
